I have decided to close down my blog, and this will be the last entry. Many a times, I have fail people's expectation of me. Time and time again, it just make me feel very very low, that I just wish to be alone. Maybe just by closing this blog, I have closed up myself as well and allowed some breathing space.

Saturday...

Brought xiao mei to my favourite restaurant and I am glad she enjoyed herself very much. Just feel good when I can bring a smile to anyone's face. Maybe that's why I tend to be lame and crappy... Dun mind being a clown to see some smiles and hear some laughter... Feel so good everytime after doing that. Haha... I am crazy...

After lunch, we headed over to Cathay for movies. Watched "The Happening" cos I doubt it cant be as bad as what the reviews and everyone had been talking abt. I was wrong. It's really that bad... Haha... Should not have waste my money on a lousy movie on a weekend, and to think I actually grabbed Moo Moo's hands whenever something not so scary is coming up. Haha... I am a timid goat... In order not to spolit my weekend, we decided to go for "Kung Fu Panda" and it's so funny. Totally enjoyed myself and sorry for laughing too loud... Cant help it when some of the scenes are damn funny... Definitely a movie to brighten up ur day, master 乌龟...

Had dinner with xiao wei and her bf... Sort of a double date and it was good... Nice to see xiao mei smiling like a 幸福 woman... Feel happy for her that she had found her own happiness and she understand that it's impt to treasure it... And I still cant believe I actually ask her abt her sex life and make her blush in public. Haha... Scared she in-experienced and cannot make it mah.... At least, me and moo moo can teach her a thing or two... Totally nonsense now....

Went for Dota cos Khris ask for it... Sort of miss him a bit and I am not surprised at all when I decided to give him a hug... Haha... Got a few scoldings from him here and there when I did something wrong during the game and come to think of it, I actually miss him telling me off when I dun work well enough... Colin even comment that I like to drift around on my own so much that he had to keep nagging at me... Imagine Colin having to resort to nagging... I must be quite a bad player...

Had a long chat with Pika and Colin after dinner. Talked abt a lot of things and I am glad I help to clear up some doubts in them... Hugs... Thanks for listening... We shd meet up for dinner soon...

朝三暮四

有些我们朗朗上口的成语，意思与它原先的用法不太相同。“朝三暮四”就是一例。现代人说这四个字，是批评某人心志坚、操守不定，有见风转舵、随风摇摆之意。但是，古人的用法并非如此。

　　比较完整的版本是《列子·黄帝》所记载的。故事大意是：宋国有个养猴子的人，时日久了能与猴子互通心意。他省吃俭用来照顾猴子，后来实在没钱买足够的栗子，只好减少猴子的食物供应，但是又怕它们不再听话，于是心生一计。他对猴子说：“以后给你们吃的栗子，早上三升，晚上四升，可以吗？”猴子听了都很生气。他再改口说：“那么，早上四升，晚上三升，可以吗？”猴子听了都很高兴。

　　接着，列子总结说：“圣人以智笼群愚，亦犹狙公之以智笼众狙也。”名与实并没有什么改变，但是可以左右众人的喜怒。

　　列子原名列御寇，在时代上早于庄子，所以《庄子》书中还有一篇，名为《列御寇》，而在其他地方也多次提及此人。不过，现在通行的《列子》一书，则是晋朝的人所编成，资料未必可信。无论如何，我们要指出的是：庄子也曾使用同样的寓言，而他的意思又远远超出了前面所说的。

　　在《庄子·齐物论》谈到“朝三暮四”之前，先说了一段深奥的道理：“因此之故，像树枝与屋梁，丑人与西施，以及各种夸大、反常、诡异、奇特的现象，从‘道’看来都是相通为一体的。有所分解，就有所生成；有所生成，就有所毁灭，所以万物没有生成与毁灭，还会再度相通为一体。”

　　庄子希望大家明白：“道”是万物的来源与归宿，万物都在“道”的里面形成一个整体。他接着说：“只有明理的人知道万物相通为一体，因此不再争论而寄托于平庸的道理上。平庸，就是平常日用的；平常日用的，就是世间通行的；世间通行的，就是把握住关键的。能到把握关键的地步，就接近‘道’了。这正是顺着状况去做，达到此一阶段而不知其中缘故，就叫做‘道’。”只要觉悟“道”是一个整体，就不会计较名称与实质的改变了。因为，真正改变的只是名称，以及随着名称而使人“以为改变的”实质。

　　以上述观念为背景，庄子最后才谈到“朝三暮四”的寓言。为了保持原典的完整，我们继续引用庄子的话，他说：“人们费尽心思去追求一体，却不知万物本来就是相同的。这就叫做‘朝三’。什么是朝三呢？有一个养猴子的人拿栗子喂猴子，说：‘早上三升，晚上四升。’猴子听了都很生气。他改口说：‘早上四升，晚上三升。’猴子听了都很高兴。名与实都没有改变，而应用之时可以左右猴子的喜怒，这也是顺着状况去做啊！所以，圣人能够调和是非，让它们安顿于自然之分，这就叫做‘两行’：是非并行而不冲突。”

　　庄子的用意显然比列子的更为开阔。圣人是卓越的领袖，他有本事让众人喜、让众人怒。但是，重点在于：不论先三后四，或者先四后三，加起来的总和都是七。正如，有人少年得志，也有人大器晚成，那么你选择什么？既然人生是一个整体，我们又何必先喜后悲，或者先悲后喜呢？这些情绪反应不是多余而毫无必要的吗？如果陷入情绪反应的循环过程中，人生不是将在来去匆匆之际，茫然而大惑不解吗？这样的人生不是太可惜了吗？

　　当然，我们认真分辨及讨论“朝三暮四”这个成语，目的并不是想要改变大家习惯的用语，而是希望借着追溯源头，说明它的本意，再进而欣赏庄子思想的特色。庄子其实完全符合西方所谓的“哲学家”标准，亦即“爱智者”，因为智慧是指“完整而根本的觉悟”。在西方，这种智慧是难以言诠的；在道家的庄子，则设法以各种比喻来启发人，引领人走向爱智及慕“道”的正途上。

I like this part the best. Sometimes the change in something can make a person very happy or very sad but he does not know that the end result is actually the same. Haha... An interesting way of looking into life... The more I read abt 庄子, the more stupid I feel...

Having someone around always help... The way he see to my needs and I dun have to say a thing. The way he hold my hands so dearly to himself. The way he hug me so that I can feel his heartbeat as well. The way he stands my nonsense. The way he take care of me when I am sick. The way he looks at me so filled with love. The way he stood my side no matter how angry I am... I dun deny that there are difficult times too... The ugly moments... The fighting, screaming and shouting but at the end of the day, it just bond us closer... It's still nice to have someone around...

Dedicated to friends who believe that singlehood can be much better than being in a relationship...

Telecommunications History

After having dug to a depth of 1000 meters last year, Swedish scientists

和鱼交往的禁忌

1.暧昧.

暧昧,不是一个人造成的,鱼本身MS是很容易就能让人暧昧的星座,似乎只是随便的就会说出很让人误解的话.但是其实鱼的内心,对暧昧这种感情,是非常沦陷但又痛苦到无法挣扎的.如果你喜欢鱼,请明确的告诉他(她),鱼喜欢了就喜欢了,不喜欢人拐弯抹角的,就算玩浪漫也要说出很明确的I LOVE U.不然钻牛角尖的鱼是会痛苦在自己的猜疑中的.而如果你不爱鱼,请停止一切可能会造成鱼误解的举动吧~请冷酷的对待鱼,不要同情鱼,不然只会给你招来一个痛苦的麻烦.
---建议:对鱼,请冷酷的说出我讨厌你,或者清楚的说出我喜欢你.

2.花心.

花心,鱼很花心,但却不允许别人花心.好霸道的星座啊~叹息.呵呵,不过鱼虽然表面给人以一付懒懒的,又笨笨的感觉,大多数鱼男对于不认识的对象一般也多不会故意去特别招惹人家.但是鱼是感觉非常敏感的动物,所以鱼变的很快,但是变并不是没有理由的.鱼很能乱想,所以很能吃醋.也许只是随便的在鱼面前赞扬下其他人,鱼可能表面还跟着你瞎起哄,但心里马上就会暗暗的记住.鱼一般乱想的事都不太会跟对方说,自己憋在心理憋成内伤,然后一古怪就绝情的离开了.离开的彻底,干脆,连个理由都不说.也许鱼就是那么霸道,跟鱼交往,要记得你的眼里只可以有他(她).
---建议:多赞扬你的鱼,少说其他异性的好话.注意异性交往.

3.忽视.

忽视,会让鱼感到寂寞.鱼鱼不论鱼女还是鱼男,都很容易寂寞.鱼的天性大概就是感觉不到爱,无法相信爱吧?虽然一直在寻找真爱,不过到底有多少鱼是真的有相信这个世界上有真爱的呢?鱼不过是找个跟自己感觉对的人,然后跟他(她)在一起,一起的消磨时间,一起的消磨感情.所以鱼需要的是一刻都不能停息的关心和爱护,鱼不喜欢被攻击,被压迫的感觉.鱼在水里待久了,是很怕冷的.如果你忽视了鱼,鱼会一个人在鱼塘里游来游去,默默的边安慰自己边哭的鱼塘水涨.如果那个时候有其它网捕他(她),鱼是很容易P腿的.
---建议:不要因为工作学业而忽视鱼鱼哟,就是小小的短信也会让鱼满足的.

4.无视.

无视,是忽视的升级,完全的让鱼鱼受伤.鱼鱼送的小花小草小金鱼,你无视,鱼鱼以后就再也不会送了.鱼鱼向你抱怨或者炫耀什么,你心不在焉,鱼鱼以后就再也不会跟你说那些话了.鱼鱼生气不理你,你也不理他,那鱼鱼是完全有能力钻牛角尖钻到保持几个月甚至几年的沉默的.鱼鱼喜欢被人关心被人守护,而且偏偏鱼的记忆力非常的好,所以如果和鱼交往的话一定要注意鱼说过的话哟.
---建议:留心鱼说过的话,接受鱼的好意,认真的和鱼交往.

5.压力.

压力,会让鱼怕到想要逃离你.鱼并不是那么的害怕对方爱情的霸道和束缚,但是非常的讨厌自己生活和理想被束缚到.不要以为鱼自己不知道自己的梦有的时候有多遥远,鱼不过是不说,愿意骗自己沉沦在梦里.不要以为你有能力和权力去改变鱼的感觉和梦想.鱼如果被嘲笑,那鱼就再不会回来.鱼塘再大,鱼还是被圈起来了养的.鱼也许喜欢四处散漫旅行,但是别给鱼压力,鱼也是有压力的承受极限的.把鱼养死了,鱼当然就再也来不到你身边了.
---建议:放松的和鱼交往,永远的支持他(她),不要试图去改变鱼所珍重的东西(像是梦想等).

《庄子》心得 - 不必要辩论

年轻时，好心的长辈劝告我：“不要做三种人，就是保人、媒人与调人。”首先，为人作保，后果堪虑，因为牵涉到的金钱往往数量庞大，可能造成倾家荡产。许多学生告诉我，说他们的父母就是为人作保而使自己的家庭陷入困境。其次，为什么不做媒人呢？因为男女结婚之后能够和睦相处吗？天下的悲剧不在好人与坏人的冲突，而在好人与好人的误会。谁说好人不会变成冤家的？一旦出现问题，媒人不是尴尬之至吗？

　　然后，为什么不做调人呢？这一点很难说个道理出来，直到读了《庄子·齐物论》，才恍然大悟。庄子劝我们不要介入别人的争辩，因为那不但吃力不讨好，而且根本注定了徒劳无功。

　　庄子说：“假设我同你辩论，你胜过我，我没法胜过你，那么你真的对吗？我真的错吗？或者，我胜过你，你没法胜过我，那么我真的对吗？你真的错吗？是一人对，一人错吗？还是两人都对，或两人都错呢？我与你是不能互相了解了。”由此可见，即使可以“服人之口”，却未必可以“服人之心”，更谈不上谁拥有绝对的真理了，因为在辩论中很可能根本没有真理可言。

　　庄子接着说：“人都被偏见所遮蔽，那么我要请谁来裁判呢？请与你意见相同的人来裁判，既然与你的意见相同，怎么能够裁判？请与我意见相同的人来裁判，既然与我的意见相同，怎么能够裁判？请与你我意见都不相同的人来裁判，既然与你我的意见都不相同，怎么能够裁判？请与你我意见都相同的人来裁判，既然与你我的意见都相同，怎么能够裁判？如此看来，我与你与别人也都不能互相了解了，那么还要期待谁呢？”

　　这一段话读起来有些绕口，但是思考却相当周延，它所强调的是：辩论双方不能“球员兼裁判”，但是即使找了任何一位“别人”，也不可能有超然的立场来担任客观的裁判。庄子所说的，固然是个事实，但是人间难免有许多争议，又该怎么办呢？现代人比较习惯采取“由相关的人来表决”，再以“多数决”的方式来做判断。这种方式也许可以用在公共事务上，但是却无助于化解各种观念上的争执。

　　为什么不做调人？因为在两造之间调解时，很可能使自己显得乡愿。乡愿就是不分黑白的和事佬，只求息事宁人而希望双方“看我的面子”握手言和。这时所重视的不是谁更有道理，而是我这个调人“面子够不够”。孔子之所以讨厌乡愿，说他是“德之贼也”(伤害美德的人)，就是担心这种风气将会混淆是非。

　　不过，庄子身为道家，他反对调解辩论的理由，自然不一样。他最后说出了重点。

　　庄子说：“辩论是非的声音是互相对立才形成的，要想化解这样的对立，就要以‘自然的分际’来调和，顺应无穷的变化，然后可以安享天年。以自然的分际来调和，又是怎么回事？就是：是与不是一样，对与不对一样。是如果真的是，那么是与不是的差别就不需争辩了；对如果真的对，那么对与不对的差别也不需争辩了。忘掉生死，忘掉是非，让一切都止息于无穷，也长处于无穷。”

　　在此，所谓“自然的分际”是指：与其在言词及观念上斤斤计较，不如观察及理解万物的变化。也许换个角度及立场，是与不是，对与不对，其实并无差别。若是从整体的眼光看待这一切，将可领悟超然的意趣。庄子喜欢提及“无竟”，亦即无穷无尽的领域，有如我们常说的“退一步，海阔天空”，甚至还可以跨出海与天，抵达无边无际的自在逍遥境界。

　　听了庄子这番话之后，我不但不想做调人，连平常与人辩论的兴致都化解于无形了。

I must admit that upon reading this part, all arguments seem so pointless sia... Suddenly, find myself so silly all these years, arguing with people when we share different views and pulling in innocent to be the judge of the case when in fact, it's all in vain. Haha... Gd to share view and thinking on stuffs but no point to push it to the level of argument.... Such is the lifestyle I must work hard to achieve...

One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live.
They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.
On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"
"It was great, Dad."
"Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.
"Oh yeah," said the son.
"So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.
The son answered:
"I saw that we have one dog and they had four.
We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end.
We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night.
Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.
We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight.
We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.
We buy our food, but they grow theirs.
We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them."
The boy's father was speechless.
Then his son added, "Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are."

So are you poor or rich? Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don't have.

禪宗 ...

Did some reading on 禪宗 (Zen) and realise that over the years, it had split into different branches and the interesting thing is that 禪宗 is actually a sub-branch of 佛教...

「禪」本來是佛教的一種修行法門，意譯為靜慮、或思維修。在南北朝時期，印度僧人菩提達摩來到中國，提倡「不立文字，直指人心」的法門，經慧能等發展為禪宗。禪宗認為解脫不在身外，解脫之道在人心。提倡心性本淨，佛性本有，見性成佛。用參究方法徹見本有佛性為宗旨，亦稱"佛心宗"。(Source from Wikipedia)

I think I like 禪宗 and the teaching of 庄子. Although they do not come from the same source, and their beliefs are quite different. I feel that it's something I am more comfortable with... 禪宗 focus a lot on self culivation and 《金剛經》, 《金剛經》 stress a lot on 無我相、無人相、無眾生相、無壽者相... using that to remind pple to see beyond all these to gain enlightment. Well, I am not seeking for enlightment, more of seeking for a peaceful heart... Haha...

Sat...

Went to do some volunteer work. Had lots of fun and I am glad some of the kids remember me... Haha... Maybe because I was the only one who bother to carry them up even when some of them are quite heavy. Even had one of them running up to me, to tap on me, asking if I could carry him again. I know I would miss all of u too... Having said that, I know I would be doing volunteer work on a weekly basis now if possible. Would want to do something meaningful in my life and it's time I do something abt it... Haha....

Was glad that Dear join me to do volunteer work. Although he didn't get to spend time with the kids, he still enjoy it a lot, seeing the satisfaction on his face. Muackz... Thanks Dear for always being so supportive and taking care of me when I feel worn out. Everything was good, not to mention I get to bitch with Kenny on the way home. Damn... Miss bitching with him sia... Too bad we dun have Koon to join us...

Went home and sleep for a while before meeting up Dear Dear to head down to Taka and show support for his friends taking part in a cheerleading competition. Can tell that the performance is really great and Dear is showing interest to go back and join the cheerleading team again. Well, I would always support him in whatever he do, somemore it's his favourite hobby since poly. Just hope that he would take gd care of himself and dun make me worried since his back injury is due to the cheerleading practise he had during poly.

Rushed down to Chinatown HQ for DOTA since we were late. Totally enjoyed myself although I had the most deaths and the team I am in always lose.... Just goes to show that how bad a player I am. Haha... Know that some pple can't stand the sight of me and ignore me. Well, I dun blame them for it, cos it's how and what they view me as. Maybe too much deaths and the volunteer work I am in make me see things differently now... 眼内有尘三界窄,心中无事一床宽... This is my favourite phase now and I should stick by it... Somehow it does help to control my temper and make me feel more at ease with my environment. If you know u can't change it, why be upset with it?

Was supposed to meet Ken, Vir, Pika and Colin for movie but then I had already promised Jasper for mahjong plus he did book me and Moo Moo one mth in advance. Haha... Was glad that me and Moo Moo won a bit in mahjong and it helps to prove a theory. No wonder my luck was going downhill when I didn't do it for quite some time. Haha... Lots of muackz and love for my lucky star, my Dear Moo Moo...

Enjoyed the mahjong session with Ken and Jasper... Was happy to see Jasper smiling and enjoying himself... Glad that he moved on and found his own happiness... Sometimes, you got to work for your happiness... If it still dun come, work harder for it lah. Haha...

庄子的心得 - 从容的风度

　　百里奚爵禄不入于心，故饭牛而牛肥，使秦穆公忘其贱，与之政也。有虞氏死生不入于心，故足以动人。

　　——《庄子·田子方》

　　庄子喜欢说故事。他说的故事有什么特色呢？简而言之，就是虚虚实实，根据某些历史资料，再搭配他想象中的人物与言论，然后像画龙点睛一般，展现他的基本观念。他的观念不但发人深省，并且可以付诸实践，在生活中体验一番。兹举一例说明。

　　《庄子·田子方》有一段记载如下：“百里奚不把爵位俸禄放在心上，所以养牛而牛肥，让秦穆公忘记他地位卑贱，把国政交给他。舜不把生死放在心上，所以孝行可以感动世人。”

　　从时间先后来说，舜在前而百里奚在后；就困难程度而言，不在乎生死显然高于不在乎爵禄。所以，庄子强调的是修养的顺序，百里奚要感动的是秦穆公一人，舜所感化的则是天下百姓。关键在于：他们都是无心而为，一方面不考虑外在的利害，不存着刻意的目的；另一方面，则是专心尽好自己的本分，然后顺其自然。

　　接着这两位历史人物之后，庄子才道出他所编的故事：“宋元君打算画些图样，所有画师都来了，行礼作揖之后站在一旁，调理笔墨，半数的人站到门外去了。有一位画师稍晚才到，悠闲地走进来，行礼作揖之后也不站立恭候，就直接到画室去了。宋元君派人去察看，他已经解开衣襟，袒露上身，盘腿端坐着。宋元君说：‘行了，这才是真正的画师。’”

　　真正的画师必须化解外在的限制，专注于他的题材与技巧，才有可能发挥创意，呈现伟大的艺术结晶。岂止画师如此，任何人只要认清本分，在自己的岗位上尽忠职守，也都可以显示潇洒自在的风度，受到大家的肯定。

　　说来很巧，晋朝的大书法家王羲之大概早就熟读《庄子》，对这一位画师印象深刻，并且起而仿效。他的作为造成了另一段佳话。

　　《世说新语·雅量》记载了下述事迹。

　　郗鉴与王导都是朝廷大官，门当户对。郗鉴想去王家挑选一位女婿，就派专人送一封信到王府，言明来意。王导对使者说：“您到东厢房去，任意挑选吧。”这位使者回去禀告郗鉴说：“王家几位公子都是可取的人才，他们听说您派人来选女婿，个个表现得庄重沉稳，只有一位公子露着肚子躺在东床上，好像没有听说这件事一样。”郗鉴说：“就选这个人吧！”打听之下，原来这个人就是王羲之，于是把女儿嫁给他了。

　　以上这段真实的事件，塑造了一个新词，叫做“东床快婿”。当时的上层社会常是家族聚居，子侄辈也生活在一起。王家是大户人家，众子侄们听说郗太傅要挑女婿，自然梳洗打扮一番，刻意表现得文质彬彬，希望可以雀屏中选。只有王羲之保持他原来洒脱的个性，“在东床上袒腹卧，如不闻”，结果反而获得青睐。

　　郗鉴所欣赏的，是不做作的自然本性，因为唯有真实的面貌才会持续一生。若是为了讨好别人而装模作样，将来结婚之后还能如此文雅吗？对王羲之来说，挑女婿是别人在决定，谁能预测其判断标准？因此，与其迁就别人而委屈自己，不如老老实实表现自己平常的生活态度，“得之我幸，不得我命”，世事岂可强求？

　　庄子在读书方面是高材生，司马迁在《史记》中说他“其学无所不窥”，该读的书都没有错过。但是，庄子是个书呆子吗？当然不是，他擅长在历史中找材料，同时以他敏锐的眼光提出道家的观点。道家有什么样的观点呢？简单说来，就是要从“整体”来看待万物的变化。既然一切变化都含括在整体中，我们又何必在意一时的得失成败呢？既然人生的起起伏伏也在这个整体中，我们又何必放弃真实的自我呢？放弃自我，所得到的又有什么价值呢？庄子将会反复叮咛我们这一类的道理。

Just something I wanted to share from everyone. I actually got it from an online book and I like the way 庄子's way of looking at things and be happy at the end of the day. Reading it also make me realise a lot of my flaws.... so I would be posting one part up on every wed... Enjoy...

Haha... Today is a very special day. It's the one year one month one day anniversity of me and Moo Moo... Time really flies... Although I know that this is not a very long period of attachment for most pple, it's very special to me... Dear had shown me more than anyone else in this world how sweet love can be, and how much both of us are willing to do to make this work...

Muackz... Thanks Dear for all your effort and sweetness... I promise I would be here for you... Do listen to this song that I specially dedicated to you...

P.S. Got Dear a few DS games... Haha... Got to find things to keep him occupied since I would be having my exams soon. May not be able to spend that much time with him liao... Going to study hard and earn more money for our future. Love you, Dear...
